Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformably underlain by Mianwali Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by Kingriali Fm (gradational).
Regional extent
The formation is exposed in the core of the Bagh and Chak Jabbi anticlines in the Kalachitta Range (Kohat-Margala Province). The Bagh locality provides a complete section; hence, Fatmi (1968) has designated it as the principal reference section that lies 1 km east-southeast of Bagh village. The unit grades into the overlying Kingriali Fm; its stratigraphic position is thus similar to that of the Tredian Fm of Salt Range and Trans Indus-Potwar Province (TrI-PP).
